Goldie Ghamari will be the Progressive Conservative party candidate for Carleton in the 2018 Ontario provincial election.
She was selected as the nominee over candidate Brandon Purcell at a meeting today in North Gower.
“Never been more proud than today to be #Canadian,” she tweeted today. Ghamari and her parents immigrated to Canada from Iran in the 1980s when she was still a baby.
Ghamari’s web site describes her as an international trade lawyer and business owner.
The Carleton riding she’ll run in will be a new one in 2018. The riding encompasses outer suburbs and rural areas in the east, south and west of Ottawa, including Stittsville, and roughly matches the boundaries of the riding that Pierre Poilievre won for the Conservatives in last year’s federal election.
Never been more proud than today to be #Canadian. Thx @OntarioPCParty for giving everyone an opportunity to serve their country. #onpoli pic.twitter.com/RS8R3i0TDa
