Sadly, Café Vardera & Lounge has closed its doors. Café Vardera & Lounge opened for business in August 2016 in the Jackson Trails Centre selling fair trade coffee. At that time, competition already existed in Stittsville with Gaia Java, Quitter’s and The Grounds open for business. This is the second coffee shop to close in less than a year – Gaia Java shut its doors earlier this year for arrears in rent and now, for the same reason, Café Vardera & Lounge has also followed this path.
The owners of Vardera got involved with the community by displaying the art from members from the West Carleton Arts Society. The café provided another avenue for local artists to sell their artwork. The paintings were changed monthly and each time created a different atmosphere to the café.
From what we are hearing, business just wasn’t busy enough to meet the many financial obligations a small business has to meet.
This is why it is so important to support our local Stittsville businesses!
